About finishing a World Cup race in 18th position with bronchitis...
I am now lying with a bronchitis in the bed on the back side of my camper while my father is driving me home from Champéry. I am so happy he was there with me, otherwise I had to stay there tonight! No chance I could drive home for hours the way I am feeling right now...
The days before the race I could feel that I might become sick. I fought against it, took lots of medicine... but in vain. In today’s race, a steadily growing headache and such a sharp pain in my lungs prevented me from doing better; but I am telling you, this 18th place is worth a lot to me!
arrivingThe flights back home from Australia last week – only 4 altogether before almost arriving home – once again were too heavy for me to take. It’s the same old same old all the time… I just can’t take the travelling! Ridiculously enough, I always try to get well through it... take medicine, try to stay warm, etc., but it seems there isn’t anything I can do against it! Travelling just makes me sick! #
Sometimes journalists ask athletes what they think their weakest point is and they actually think of some lack of certain skills or similar. I think I know which is mine…
my weakest point is the travelling!
